My university teaching experience spans a broad range of chronology and topics, from the Ancient World to the Middle Ages. I am also an experienced writing instructor, having taught for the University of Florida’s Writing Program in the 2017-18 academic year.
In the classroom, my goal is to train students to master the interdisciplinary methods used by Late Antique and Early Medieval historians. My history students learn how to evaluate and use archaeological data, scientific studies, and physical anthropology (human bones) alongside more familiar documentary sources. As a university writing instructor, I am experienced teaching the fundamentals of research project design, clear argumentation, and the effective use of evidence, analysis, and prose.
