Our Anglo-Saxon collection attracts researchers from far and wide, most recently Andrew Welton, a doctoral student at the University of Florida, who is studying spearheads from this period. As Andrew has been showing us, there’s more to Anglo-Saxon spearheads than meet the eye. Careful examination shows that some of the spearheads still have the remains of their wooden shafts and even the textiles in which they were wrapped before being buried.
